I made the chili for dinner tonight (did not make the grits). My husband and I both loved it. We both really liked the added texture from the garbanzo beans and edamame, and we also liked the smokiness from the liquid smoke. I made it with chicken broth instead of mushroom broth, but that is the only change to the recipe I made.

I really like this recipe and will be making it again. However, I will double the amount of artichokes (the store only had a 9 oz package, so I was an oz low on artichokes to begin with).
