These were amazing. I was unable to measure my chocolate by the pound so I just did a 2:1 ratio of chocolate to cream. I also melted the chocolate in a double boiler too and then added the cream. I set them in the fridge to harden and they came out beautiful. They are delicious. I didn't have Grand Marnier and also left out the coffee and it was still...

These were ok, but def tasted like cake. I loved the lemon zest and honey and I did use the butter cake mix, but tasted like a cake, not a cookie. They were good to eat, but unfortunetly I will not make this recipe again. It was easy, but if I want madeleines I will use another recipe. And it is not that difficult to measure out flour and baking powder...

What did I do wrong? The custard never broke for me. I kept whisking and whisking like others suggested, almost 20 minutes. Finally it was so thick and seperating from the sides of the pan that I finally took it off the heat. I whisked the entire time. I then did have to add the extra 1/2 cup of warm heavy cream to get it to whip up once it cooled....
