Reviewed Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting

I probably s/h followed the recipe to a T instead of going by the reviews. I used 1C oil instead of 1-1/2 & 1-1/2 C buttermilk per someone elses suggestion. They are pretty much flavorless. If it weren't for the cream cheese icing (of which I only used 2-1/2 C confectioners sugar and the 1/4 fresh sweet cherry & pecan sliver, they'd be ho-hum....
