"This is my idea of the perfect New England clam chowder! I usually make the recipe exactly, especially the first time, but admittedly I made some minor changes. My husband and I don't like cooked carrots so I left that out and I used canned clams (3 cans of chopped. I didn't think this was pricey at all ($1.50 for 8 ounces of clam juice. The consistency and spices were perfect.
