My Activity

Reviewed Neely's BBQ Sauce

"BBQ sauce is a very personal thing. For example, chubby hubbie is from KC - I'm from StL. I was hoping this would be a happy middle ground between his mustardy, tart taste and my sweet inclinations. Also, no. He deemed it too vinegar-y and I have to agree. "

Reviewed Chinese Chicken Salad

"This is a great recipe when you're feeding a crowd. The last time I made it, it was for my husband's office. The bowl came back with gnaw marks on the side. I used low sodium soy sauce and still needed to cut back on the salt (but I'm usually feeding a bunch of middle aged hypertensive men!)."

Reviewed Pasta, Pesto, and Peas

"When my son first transitioned to big people food, this was his favorite. So much so that we planted basil in our backyard so we could make the pesto. This recipe is not only tastey but it feeds a crowd."

Reviewed Chicken Stew with Biscuits

"The funniest thing was my dad kind of busted my chops for serving chicken stew when they were coming over for dinner. Well, he had to take back every snarky remark after he ate it. It is fabulous."

Reviewed Cheddar Corn Chowder

"She had me at bacon! I have made this several times, always as written and it has plenty of flavor for the motley crew that I serve. Good autumn, winter lunch."

Reviewed Rum Raisin Rice Pudding

"The highest compliment from my Dad, "This is just like your Grandma used to make". Great, homey comfort dessert. What I like about Ina's recipes is that they are so simple and unpretentious yet so delicious. "

Reviewed Flag Cake

"I've made this a few times - once for my friend when she became a US citizen. It is always a huge hit. It looks way more complicated than it is to put together."

Reviewed Fruit Salad with Limoncello

"This is not only an easy recipe but people will think you are a culinary genius. Turns up the volume on an ordinary fruit salad."
