Reviewed Gnocchi With Squash and Kale

Oct 12, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was recipe was good, but it needed something "sweet". I added some cubed ham to it and it seemed to add the sweetness to the savory flavor to the recipe. Maybe next time I would leave off the cheese and add a little heavy cream or half and half. "

Reviewed Quick Pickles

Sep 7, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I had to triple the recipe for all the cucumbers I had. I did not have mustard seeds on hand, so I substituted Grey Poupon Harvest Coarse Ground mustard (it has the same ingredients as the recipe, plus a little white wine---I thought, why not??) These pickles are deliciously addicting!!"

Reviewed Sauteed Swiss Chard with Bacon

Jul 5, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Loved having the crunch and color of the chopped stems in combination of the wilted greens. And you can never go wrong with bacon!! Took it to a pot luck, where many people tried Swiss Chard for the first time and loved it!! Even a four year was eating it!!"

Reviewed Beet Salad with Goat Cheese

Jul 5, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

As Guy would say, "This is off the chain!!!" I did not roast the beets as long as he said, 25-30 minutes seemed long enough. It became an instant hit with my beet-loving husband!!"

Reviewed Agua Fresca de Pepino: Cold Cucumber Drink

Jul 5, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very refreshing. Great way to use up the big cucumbers that seem to accumlate in the summer gardens. I needed to add more sugar than what the recipe states. Nice non-alcoholic accompaniment to spicy Mexican food. "

Reviewed White Bean and Tuna Spread

Apr 26, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Economically tasty!! I used just regular Chicken of the Sea Albacore tuna and added a drizzle of olive oil. Grilled some buttered toast and it made a nice tuna salad sandwich with the arugula and the roasted red pepper strips. "

Reviewed Banh-mi Wrap: Vietnamese Grilled Pork Wrap with Pickled Carrots and Mint

Aug 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Easy, tasty, full of flavors!! I grilled my pork chops on our Big Green Egg grill for extra smokey goodness!! Also I bought 2 pounds of chops, since there was plenty of marinade. Looking forward to awesome leftovers!!!""

Reviewed Ham and Fontina Frittata

May 12, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

My first frittata!!! And my family loved it!!! Easier than I thought it would be. I will definitely be looking for other frittata recipes to add to this one!!!"

Reviewed Swiss Chard and Golden Raisins

May 12, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I couldn't find Swiss Chard, so I substituted 2 bags of spinach. Next time I'll just use one cup of broth. It was a hit with my family!!! Nice compliment to the Ham and Fontina Fritatta. "

Reviewed Smoky Kale Chips

Apr 26, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Addicting!!! Needed a little more time in the oven for crispness. "

Reviewed Chicken in Creamy Tomato Curry: Chicken Tikka Masala

Mar 4, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Love the flavor and aroma of this dish!! It is more time consuming, but worth it!! Another new family favorite thanks to Aarti!!! I substituted 28 oz crushed tomatoes for the roma tomatoes, like one reviewer suggested. Definitely a time saver, since I don't have an immersion blender. I ended up using the entire recipe of the garlic/ginger paste...

Reviewed Cauliflower and Potatoes: "Aloo Gobi"

Mar 4, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Awesome and easy!! A new family favorite!!! Aarti, you made me fall in love with Indian food!! And I can make it at home!!"

Reviewed Indian Cucumber and Yogurt Salad: Cucumber Raita

Feb 1, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Refreshing Raita combined with the spices of the Beef Vindaloo wrapped in a chapati equals a very delicious Indian style gyro. I grated my cucumber in the food processor---next time I will absorb the excess moisture with a paper towel so it won't make the Raita runny.

Reviewed Indian Whole Wheat Griddle Breads: Chapatis

Feb 1, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Fun and easy to make!! Didn't absorb as much sauce from the Beef Vindaloo as I thought it would. But, the combination of the Beef Vindaloo and Raita wrapped up in a chapati reminded me of a gyro with a flavor explosion!!

Reviewed Goan Beef Curry with Vinegar: Beef Vindaloo

Feb 1, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very flavorful----with the chapatis and Raita----like an Indian style gyro. I left out the serrano pepper and used a London Broil that was on sale at my supermarket. Meat was tender. Leftovers are even better the next day!!!
