My Activity

Reviewed Pumpkin Muffins

"good muffins - my picky toddler even wolfed them down! with regards to the not sweet enough comments, I think it's important to remember these aren't cupcakes. These are on the plain-side, but I simply upped the spices and added some pumpkin pie spice and I think they turned out great. good consistency, look beautiful too."

Reviewed Bacon and Tomato Pasta

"everyone's right - it's yummy. and so easy and quick it's hard to dislike. i think i might add some balsamic next time, but other than that wouldn't change anything."

Reviewed Bacon-Herb Wrapped Pork Tenderloin

"nice and flavorful, not too heavy or greasy. i'd definitely make this again, although even with all that roasted garlic i didn't get a lot of garlic flavor in the meat. i think next time i'll stick a few pieces of cloves in the meat itself instead of just rubbing. i used dried herbs like many other people who commented.

Reviewed Black Bean Soup with Mojo

"Great, easy, slow-cooker soup. I used half as many pork ribs and wish I'd had more. They were delicious. It was a little spicy for my toddler son, but nice and meaty for the adults. I cooked this on low for 8 hours and the dry beans cooked just fine. I also had no trouble with a quick stick blend. Very easy prep - just cut up the onion and chop the head off a garlic clove. My garlic held together nicely without cheesecloth - easy to remove. I liked the mojo, but you really only need a half order - the garlic is a bit strong, but a nice flavor contrast to the soup.

Reviewed Slow Cooker Moroccan Brisket with Red Onions and Apricot Couscous

"Yummy slow cooker recipe. The veggies were a bit soggy like the other reviews say - but very flavorful and great with the cous cous and juice. Very tender meat, good amount of flavor too. I accidentally bought turnips instead of parsnips (since I've never cooked them) and they were good too!

Reviewed Sweet and Sour Chicken

"this was great - even my 3-year-old liked it. not too spicy at all. i left out the scallions and added broccoli, and also used sesame oil since i already had it. very easy to make...i'll definitely do this again for a quick, healthy, weeknight meal.

Reviewed BBQ Turkey Meatloaf

"in case anyone's as dumb as me and thinks it's a good idea to use MORE of the neely's yummy bbq sauce, don't do it! too much sauce makes it too moist and gives it a squishy texture, no matter how long you cook it. i've made this before (according to the recipe) and it was delish.

Reviewed Lime-Marinated Flank Steak with Herb Salad

"I make this flank steak marinade all the time. It's super-simple (especially if you have a lemon/lime hand juicer) and doesn't need to marinate for too long to pick up the flavor. I usually marinate for a few hours.
