"I agree with novembernightstar about the frozen beans being too hard. I enjoyed the dish. It is tasty and it didn't taste anything like gumbo, which is fine for me since I'm not a big fan. I added an extra cup of broth and continued to simmer until both the kale and beans softened to my liking. I will make it again and add the soyrizo as someone else suggested. I would suggest either using your own homemade beans or buying them canned. I had homemade black beans at home but wanted to follow the recipe as called for. "
