I made this for a Christmas brunch and everyone loved it. I tweaked the recipe after reading the reviews. I used only 5 cups of Italian loaf bread and made that the bottom layer. I cooked the sausage first and used the fat from that to cook the onions & hash browns and I added bell pepper. I added a little EVOO to the pan before adding the hash...
