Reviewed raisin pecan oatmeal cookies

Dec 4, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Great cookie recipe. I substituted chocolate chips for raisins because my kids requested it. I also cut back on the cinnamon. My go to recipe for oatmeal cookies!

Reviewed the best green beans ever

Nov 3, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I did not have bacon grease, so I used olive oil. Thinly sliced onion, omitted the pepper and added garlic once onions were cooked. I then used only 1 pound of green beans and 2 cups of broth. Cooked for about 30 minutes. Delicious!

Reviewed lemon ricotta cookies with lemon glaze

Sep 9, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Excellent. This will be a go to dessert recipe for dinner parties. The bottom of the cookie is crunchy and the middle is cake-like. I used 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of water in the glaze just so the lemon flavor is not too overwhelming.

A lot of work and you have to time it just right, but worth every bit of effort. Outstanding recipe!

Reviewed rigatoni with vegetable bolognese

Jul 18, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I am not much of a fan of mushrooms, but saw this recipe in People Magazine and learned it is one of Giada's favorites, so I had to try. It is rich, savory and one of the best meals I've ever made. My picky eaters even loved it. This recipe is a definite keeper and will be a dish I will prepare for guests.

Worth the effort to make this dish and you will find yourself licking the bowl. Next time I will make with chicken, green onions and diced tomatoes just to change it up. I served with fettucini noodles and could not eat it fast enough. Better the next day.

Reviewed Meat Sauce

Dec 29, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

I am 51 years old and this is the best meat sauce I have ever had. I used Jimmy Dean (tube) Regular Sausage, Publix Green Wise crushed tomatoes, Pomi Finely Chopped Tomatoes (instead of the additional 15 oz crushed tomatoes), Paul Newman's Organic Marinara Sauce for the jarred sauce and Italian Seasoning instead of the oregano. I thought it wouldn't...

Replied to Chocolate Mousse

Dec 16, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

It's unfair to post 2 stars when it's your fault. This purpose of the review section is to review the recipe as it is intended to be made. You are essentially reviewing a different recipe when you go and change it. I look for 5 star recipes to make, but if people like you unfairly review a recipe it cheats us all.

Best soup EVER!!!! Use the best ingredients you can afford for any recipe, but don't buy short change this recipe by buying grocery store sherry. Go to the liquor store and buy the good stuff because this is what makes the recipe so good.

Reviewed Easy Peach Cobbler

Jul 4, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I used 12 peaches and was barely enough. Not a deep dish peach cobbler but will try it in a smaller pan next time. I cut back on the sugar used for cooking the peaches by about 1/2 and was delicious. The peaches were naturally very sweet so I did not need a full cup of sugar."

Reviewed Chewy Toffee Bars

Sep 23, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Cooked exactly as directed yet 3/4 of the bars were runny gooey even after waiting the 15 minutes to cool. The edges did not burn but had a burnt taste. I would recommend using a bigger pan, but it did not even taste good so don't bother with this recipe. Extremely sweet and gritty."

This dish was so flavorful. I don't cook pork very often because it tends to be dry, but with the balsamic sauce it was very good. This recipe is a keeper. My 6 and 7 year old loved it too.
