Is it just me, or does this recipe neglect to tell you what to do with the ground hazelnuts? Are they a garnish? I'm guessing they probably go in the torte at some point, but when?

Quite good. Following some of the other reviews, I added 2 tbsp of honey to the butter I melted to give it some extra sweetness. I also used a dash of Cayenne and some corn bits for texture and complexity. Turned out wonderful. BTW, this recipe makes about 24 cornbread muffins.

Recipe came out water-thin. I had to add about another 1/4 cup of flour to get the right batter consistency, and even then the cooked pancakes weren't quite right.

It's been very well received both times, even though it's hard to get exactly the right ingredients in Europe, so I have to use bacon instead of salt pork. I've made this chowder twice now to represent American cuisine at my school. It's been very well received both times, even though it's hard to get exactly the right ingredients in Europe. I use vegetable stock instead of chicken, and bacon instead of salt pork.
