"I was "born and raised" in Greenwood, and eating at the Crystal Grill was a part of my life - a very tasty part! Trips home after moving away always include a meal there -- true Southern cooking with generous portions and a fantastic wait staff. Lastly, the pies with 4-5inch meringue!

"I,too, "fiddled" with the recipe --- used chicken broth instead of water, found it too thin and made a little flour slurry,still too thin (we like thick soups!). I think Bob Brewer has the right idea -- more corn and rice! Also added some Creole seasoning. Overall a very good dish!"
