Good recipe. First time I followed the recipe exactly. Used Challah bread cut thick (7/8"). Let sit out overnight. Didn't seem to soak up enough custard. (Yes, I let it stand a couple of minutes before browning.) Not bad but I tried again. Second time I used Challah bread cut a litter thinner, 3/4" thick. Since it wasn't hard it seemed to soak up...
