Reviewed Potatoes Au Gratin

Oct 19, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

THE BEST recipe!! My dad had three helpings and said that it was so good he thought he was eating at a nice restaurant! I will admit, I use double the cheese -- about 1 cup of parm and 1 cup of gruyere. Absolutely delicious and so easy!!!""

Reviewed Fried Chicken in a Basket

The taste of the chicken was great - I gave a bit heavier coating of the flour mixture for a more crunchy crust. My only problem was the chicken was still raw! I had to put it in the oven for an additional 15 minutes until cooked properly. So my recommendation - 25 total minutes in oven after frying. No one likes to bite into a raw chicken leg..

Reviewed Shepherd's Pie

Best Shepherd's Pie recipe I've found! Made it last night with beef and it turned out great! I didn't find there were too many potatoes like other people had said in their reviews, however I did need more chicken stock than it called for, and added an extra tab of butter to the potatoes. Definitely a keeper, recommended it to several people today!

Reviewed Roasted Vegetable Meatloaf with Balsamic Glaze

BEST MEATLOAF I'VE EVER HAD!!! Everyone in my family requests I make this! The easiest thing to use is two 1 lb. packs of the "Meatloaf Mix" (premixed pork, veal, beef) in the prepackaged meat section next to the ground beef in the grocery store! Make sure to chop the vegetables very fine or the meatloaf will fall apart easy.

Reviewed Caramel Apple Cheesecake

The taste was great, but the cheesecake that was against the inner apple filling never set. I guess all the moisture in the apple filling caused all the cheesecake around it to stay mushsy and runny. I even tried to make the entire cheesecake again and cooked it an extra 20 minutes, and it was still not set on the inside next ot the filling.... if...

Very Good! It definitely needed more pork, though. And I would suggest leaving the pork in chunky/small bite sized pieces.

Reviewed Quick Veggie Stir-Fry

This was horrible. I DID add salt, pepper, and garlic powder - I know this is what Hopefullie suggested, and still felt like it was bland and had no depth of flavor whatsoever. No one finished their helping. Don't waste your time on this recipe, you will be dissapointed.

Reviewed Easy Shrimp Potstickers

These were great - definitely a keeper! The dipping sauce makes the dish - so tasty! The reciepe does call for too much oil... A small amount of oil and a good nonstick pan works the best.
