Reviewed ham with barbecue beans

Apr 8, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This was pretty good. Our grocery doesn't carry picnic ham all year round, so we used bone in ham steaks. We put them in about halfway through cooking as there was no need to cook the ham steaks that long. The dish was a little dry, next time I'd try adding some extra liquid or not cooking as long.

Reviewed Turkey Sausage Tacos Recipe : Food Network Kitchen : Food Network

Apr 8, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I'll be the first to admit I used the wrong type of turkey sausage, but this for us was unpalatable.

Reviewed moroccan chicken and squash

Mar 26, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

We were not fans. It's all just ok. For me the flavors just didn't really meld well. The chicken was juicy and tender, but I don't really enjoy the appearance of steamed chicken. Most of it will be tossed, unfortunately.

Reviewed Light Cheese Lasagna

Apr 23, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

bleh. I didn't use the celery because I hate celery, but carrot lasagna is pretty blah. The shallot sauce was not runny for me, so our lasagna was not runny like the other reviewer's. I should have put more tomatoes on it, the bites with tomatoes were the only ones that had any flavor. :("

Reviewed Tortellini With Pumpkin Alfredo Sauce

Sep 16, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Liked the pumpkin in the sauce. Ours was a little under seasoned, needed a little salt and pepper added to it. We used sage rather than parsley, it was a nice addition."

Reviewed Almost-Famous Barbecue Chicken Pizza

Mar 20, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I simplified this recipe, and it was still great. I used premade individual serving crusts, and packaged grilled chicken. The pizza was on the table in about 20 minutes! Yum. ""

Reviewed Indian Chicken Wrap

Mar 5, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

We liked these, although I thought they came out sort of bland and a little messy, too much water maybe? The sauce is a nice touch.""

Reviewed Spicy Vegetarian Chili

Mar 5, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I didn't tear the tortillas small enough, they were a weird texture in the chili. I loved the flavor though, used all the spices as listed, and definitely didn't find it too spicy, but we really like spicy food. I totally forgot about the cauliflower, but it was good without it. ""

Reviewed Peanut Butter Cream-Filled Devil's Food Cupcakes

Feb 22, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

They did turn out fantastic, very rich, people asked for the recipe. But I agree, keep to only half full, and it made 24 for me too. The peanutbutter filling filled all 24 and had some left. My tops wanted to break off when I tried to dip them in the ganache, not sure if it was because they poured over the top or because I didn't let them cool...

Reviewed Oatmeal-Flax Chocolate Chip Cookies

Jan 17, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

They puffed up all nice and golden in the oven, then sank when taken out of the oven. This resulted in a not very pretty cookie, but the flavor is good. Mine came out kind of chewy/doughy, which to me is okay, but not optimal. ""

Reviewed Cornbread Sticks

Jan 3, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I don't have cornbread pans like that, but used a cast iron skillet, the recipe did not fill the pan, so the bread came out a funny shape, so my presentation wasn't nearly as cute. However, the taste was great, probably the best cornbread I've made. It's true that this is not a sweet cornbread, it's spicy, I really enjoyed the onion/jalapeno ad...

Reviewed French Fry Deluxe Salad

Apr 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Love, love, loved this salad. I didn't follow the recipe all that closely, and my ratios were off, too much onion, too much vinegar, not enough lettuce, but that's my own fault. The salad dressing of hamburger condiments was a great idea, and I loved the French fries in the salad. My fiancée thought it was going to be weird, but he loved it."

Reviewed Monster Marshmallow Cookies

Apr 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Mine came off the parchment fine, but many of them fell apart while moving, and most of them had huge craters in them where the marshmallows melted out. The cookies were dry, and the flavor was just so so in my opinion."

Reviewed Spinach and Ricotta Dumplings

Apr 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Yuck, I rarely just dump a whole pan of food, but both my fiancée and I thought these were gross."

Reviewed Mini Skillet Meatloaves

Oct 19, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

Super yummy. I hate parsley, so put in some poultry seasoning and some bbq spice in it. I loved making the minis in the skillet.

Reviewed Ricotta, Ham and Scallion Tart

Oct 15, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

I cooked it for an extra five minutes, and it still wasn't completely set but the edges of the crust was a little dark. I loved the pizza dough crust. We used light ricotta.
