Very delicious! I love cooking with port and wine, and I was a little concerned that it would dominate the flavours but it did not. The flavors melded perfectly. And unique as well, in a good way.

Very good recipe. LeDena, I cannot understand how the rub would be dry if you followed the directions. First, pork has fat and that fat would rendered causing the spices to become somewhat moist. I made it tonight and it turned out perfectly. I live in a building which has a very sensitive smoke detector, I used my brain, I do not have a high end fan to get rid of all the smoke that the wood chips would have created. So I skipped it. I was a bit lazy, I passed on the BBQ sauce. The rub was outstanding. I have to comment on the whining below....
