Reviewed Onion and Pepper Smothered Round Steak

The first bite popped, making you think this was going to be a very hot and spicy dish. It smoothed out a bit and delivered wonderful flavors until the end. We had zero leftovers. Next time I'm going to leave it covered longer, the meat never reached the real tenderness I expected.

I was ready to pop the loaf into the oven when I noticed the cooled onions, peppers and garlic sitting on the stove. At what point in the instructions do I throw the onions, peppers and garlic away?
