i only used the brine, but what a difference it made to my grilled chicken, making it so juicy and tender. I will use this brine for chicken and pork.

Did you use 1 pint or 2 pints of ice cream? Her video says 2 pints but the recipe states 1 pint.

I've made it 18 hours ahead of time and have reheated every last crumble in the microwave.

Reviewed fresh peach cake

Jul 27, 2014 on

I followed the recipe until I goofed up the batter layering. I used 3/4 of the batter on the bottom, then 3/4 peaches and smoothed on the remaining 1/4 batter. I sprinkled all the sugar on the whole thing, then added the 1/4 peaches. I baked it for 60 minutes since it was still not done in the middle, and then sprinkled dark brown sugar on top....

Reviewed ej's simple italian meatball soup

Jul 27, 2014 on

I used a few different ingredients since I didn't have those listed. Panko bread crumbs, "Italian seasoning" and small square Hungarian egg noodles. Simmered for about 2 hours, I added a dollop of marscapone cheese in the middle of each bowl. It was simply delicious.

Reviewed strawberry country cake

May 25, 2014 on

Lovely cake, better than a strawberry shortcake. It took about 55 minutes to bake 2 rounds but I chalk it up to using sour cream substitute (buttermilk and butter). Also didn't have an orange so used 1/4t orange extract. The cakes had just a bit of crisp to the outside. I had left over icing that went in between the rounds with strawberries placed...

Reviewed slow cooker chocolate candy

May 16, 2014 on

I read the reviews first and it turned out wonderfully delicious. I had my slow cooker on low but checked and stirred the mixture every 30 minutes for 3 hours. I added unsalted macadamia nuts not peanuts, mini caramel pieces, along with the vanilla bark and choco chips. Creamy and smooth. Makes 2 dozen candies and I froze 1/2 dozen. Definitely...

Absolutely delicious. I used 8 small ramekins and filled them 1/2 way. The only substitutions I made was to use 1/2 and 1/2 instead of whole milk and used 3T flour. Simply decadent. Good room temperature and with real whipped cream.

These donut puffs are the tastiest little treats. They are so much better than any store bought donuts/donut holes I ever purchased. And easy to make. I had to substitute a couple of ingredients since I didn't have them on hand. I used leaf lard instead of shortening and 1/2 and 1/2 for whole milk. I put in 1/8t of nutmeg, 1t cinnamon and 1t...

Reviewed black bean soup

Feb 5, 2014 on

I used what I had in my pantry and it turned out fantastic. Small onion and 1 shallot minced. Tumeric for cumin. 1/2 orange pepper chopped. 3 parmigiano reggiano rinds. 4 chicken flavour packets. 28 ounce can San Marzano tomatoes. Simmered for 2 hours then used inversion blender. Such a flavourful soup for a cold snowy day.

Reviewed Roasted Turkey Gravy

Nov 26, 2013 on

I used 3 smaller smoked turkey wings and turkey stock. The aroma from the roasting of the wings and veg was lovely. I'll be placing the wings back in the gravy now after deboning them. Tyler left that part out. I used 2/3rds of a medium garlic head, great way to roast the garlic. Beautiful colour with no additives.

Absolutely a winner!! I used 1 cup of truvia and processed the ricotta (big difference). I put parchment paper down on the bottom of the springform pan and then used veg spray and fit the heavy duty foil snugly all around it. Be careful not to put too high a level of water in the bath since I did a bit too much and when it boiled it got into t"

These pancakes were light, tasty and not heavy. I pretty much followed the recipe. I put the 1 cup ricotta cheese through a food processor to make it really smooth. That helped when mixing it with the dry ingredients. I also added 1 teaspoon vanilla to the wet ingredients. After I folded in the egg whites, I let the mixture sit for about 15-2"

Reviewed Quick Cinnamon Apple Tarte

This tarte was absolutely delish. I made a few changes to it after reading the reviews. I used pastry flour, added 1teaspoon vanilla extract, used agave syrup about 2-3 tablespoons for the Granny Smith apples and added 1 tablespoon flour to them too. The agave syrup made the apples sweeter and wetter. I baked at 350 for about 1 hour 20 minutes"
