I'm a middle-aged working mother -- a reporter who wishes she could be a food writer -- with a small child. I love to cook and, of course, eat and enjoy experimenting with recipes, espeically with the use of fresh herbs, sea salts and unusual ingredients. I used to do some food writing for The Associated Press but haven't done any in a while. I have just begun work on my first book, to be titled The Blue Barrel.
