Made this all my life. We add red radish. We don't use relish, we cut up sweet pickles midgets and use the pickle juice. Sometimes we add cubed Velveeta. We only use green onions and can actually eliminate them if someone is notorious for heartburn. We most definitely do not use Miracle Whip - it's Hellman's Mayonnaise or don't bother making "

Great. Rye bread is the kicker. I looked and looked for Patty Melt recipes and so many don't include rye bread. This one is not only a keeper, it's so simple to remember, you don't need a recipe. Just do it over and over again."
