Reviewed Buttermilk Pie
"Absolutely easy to make. Great teaching recipe for young kids to learn steps of cooking, no power tools needed. Makes the house smell amazing. Kylie wanted to sprinkle a dash of cinnamon on top to add "her own touch". This one will defintely be one that makes repeat performances in our house. We often have a bit of buttermilk left over and this mak..."

"Loved it!! I couldn't wait to try it after watching the Hangover show and when I did, it turned out perfectly. I had sprinkled the top with schzewan salt and pepper from Penzeys and it was awesome with dinner. The other loaf was sprinkled with a fine dusting of raw sugar and then used for french toast. When used for french toast, it has lots of c""

"Easy to make, looks great to serve, the sauce is great for dipping. The kiddos were even begging to share the "adult vegetable". We made a big deal about sharing and now we have them hooked for life!!"

"I have now made this recipe twice for coworkers and it disappears QUICKLY!!! Super easy to make and great results each time. Thank you so very much for a definite keeper of a recipe."
Reviewed "Cheater's" Duck Confit
"I have been looking for a duck recipe for quite some time. This was awesome!! I can't wait to make this company worthy dish next time I have company. It definitely has some wow factor to it. We got our duck meat from the farmer's market and it had a gorgeous amount of fat on it and it was fresher than anything you would get at a supermarket. It wasn't as expensive as I thought either because most people want duck breast. Make sure to season throughout and not just layer with salt at the end. Definite 5 stars!!
Reviewed Spaghetti alla Carbonara
"What draws me to Anne is that she doesn't use a lot of pepper and on her show she makes a comment that even though she doesn't normally go for pepper, that it is a must have in this recipe. It whipped up in 10 minutes and it tasted better than any pasta I have ever made. I can see why Anne says that Chefs have this as their meal after cooking all night. Easy, fast and tastes like you are pampering yourself. I did the recipe to the letter. The scallions on the top I cut thinner than she did and next time I will leave a tad bit wider. They are a must have though. That little bit of a crunch, mixed with the creaminess of the sauce and the heat of the pepper makes this a complete winner.
About Me
I am a Registered Nurse who loves my job, but loves my time off. In my free time, I enjoy testing out new recipes, geocaching, spending time with family and friends, quilting and so much more.
I get inspired to cook in so many ways. I am lucky to live in a city which supports many different cultures so I have access to so many different culinary styles. I love classic chefs such as Julia Child, but also am very inspired by newer chefs like Roger Mooking, Ching He Huang, David Rocco, Chuck Hughes and more.
Favorite Foods
I am defintely on a banh mi kick right now. I love baking and always look forward to fall when apple season is in full swing. I have many friends who make sure to arrive at the house at dinner time to see what I am about to come up with. My favorite restaurant depends on what culinary style I am planning on enjoying. I make a killer apple pie (straight out of the 1950 version of my mom's cookbook, never made any changes).
