Reviewed Perfect Roast Chicken

Apr 15, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Simply amazing! I was a bit skeptical considering it is still a roasted chicken, but I am so glad I tried it out. The skin was so crispy, the meat was juicy and the flavor was fabulous! I did not have thyme or fennel on hand but I did add small potatoes. My 12 year old daughter said the carrots were amazing and asked I double the amount next time."

Reviewed Homemade Cranberry Nut Granola

Feb 17, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I just finished making this granola and can not stop eating it! Simply amazing. I substituted agave syrup for the maple syrup since I did not have any in the house. Love the cranberry flavor and will definitely be making it again."

An amazingly easy recipe that is perfect for a weeknight. I did not have fennel so I used a yellow pepper since that was what I had in the fridge. I also added some onion to the mix. Great flavors that even my 12 year old enjoyed. Will definitely put this one into rotation."

Reviewed Turkey-and-Rice Stuffed Peppers

Jan 13, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The picture on the cover of the magazine drew me in even though I generally do not like sweet and savory mixed together. So glad I tried it! Great mix of flavors with the herbs, raisins, walnuts and cheeses. The sauce was fabulous too. I did cook it differently than the recipe. I only made 4 peppers so I squeezed them into a loaf pan with the sauc"

Dec 30, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This soup has been a huge hit with my husband and 12 year old! The meatballs definitely make it and we have used them for spaghetti and sub sandwiches. I keep a batch frozen for last minute dinners. YUM! I did not use the dill for the soup and the flavor was still great. I have also used kale instead of spinach, both are awesome but I think I pre"

Reviewed Mushroom-Stuffed Pork Tenderloin

Jan 24, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Fabulous recipe! For the most part followed the recipe, but did forget to add in the garlic. Not sure it was missed. Next time I will add a bit more lemon since I didn't really taste it in the oil. I seared it on the stove first then put in a 400 degree oven for about 20 minutes. I let it rest about 10 minutes and it was perfect inside. Will defi...

Good recipe for chili. I used cubed beef versus ground beef and cooked it in the crock pot. Browned meat in pan, drained off oil and added to crock pot. Mixed in all the other ingredients then let it all cook together for about 9 hours. As someone else mentioned, it does have a dark red/brown color versus a brighter red. ""

Although I normally love Guy's recipes because of the awesome flavor, this one just had too much going on. Friends really liked it so I gave it 3 stars. It does make a lot so I made 6 burgers versus 4.""

Reviewed Light Baked Spaghetti

Jan 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Great dish! My husband and daughter both loved it so much they asked for it to be added to the monthly rotation. I used a chicken sausage without casing, but instead of crumbling in the pan as the directions say, I just sliced them up so there would be good size pieces. I also used reduced fat cheese by Sargento. It melts well without the greasin...

Reviewed Potato Gnocchi with Peas, Prosciutto and Ricotta

Jan 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this over the weekend and the reviews were mixed. I loved it, but my husband thought it was "just good". He was not a fan of the lemon ricotta on top. The neighbors seemed to like it too. I will say the truffle oil makes this dish by adding great flavor. I did cheat and use Archer Farms mushroom gnocchi since I was running late. I've used ...

Love the twist on the wild rice. Living in MN I try to find different recipes for wild rice and this one is a keeper. Time to cook the rice will vary each time, you really just have to watch it. Based on other posts I did not add additional salt while cooking, but it was needed once on the plate. I did use low sodium chicken broth so maybe those ...

Dec 21, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The pork came out very tender, but was a bit bland. I only had a couple of lemons so not sure if that was the issue or not. My husband and I would have liked some heat to it so will try again with cayenne. Definitely one to try again.""

Loved these cookies! They do taste like a PBJ sandwich. I made the mistake of using Simply Fruit instead of preserves and it melted a bit into the cookie. Still tasted great, but it is important to use a really thick preserve so it stays in place. Next time I will make sure to use a preserve.""

Fabulous appetizer! Made this last night for the family and everyone loved it. I did make a few changes. Not much of a sweet/savory mix person so I did not use the mango. I also did not have celery or cilantro so left those out. I did have red peppers and avacado so I diced them both into small pieces and added in. The lime flavor was perfect! I ...
