I made this and the texture is spot on but it does need a few tweaks. Several posters commented it was bland. When a food is bland, you don't add sugar. You either add salt and/or spice. I upped the cinnamon considerably and added allspice, clove and did use the called for cardamon. But the biggest difference was I added more SALT. Salt helps food...
