Okay, after reading some of the negative reviews, I had to figure out what the problem was. I followed the recipe exactly using butter flavored shortening instead of plain. I wanted to do this because any southerner knows shortening gives more of a rise or "puff" and butter gives a more heavy or dense bread or cookie. I think where the problem...

Also, if you ask the butcher at your grocery store, he will cut the meat for you. This type of loin is not normally "out" with the other stuff.

Okay, I made this even better by getting rid of the canned soups and replacing them with organic beef broth and bouillon cubes. This made it taste more "made from scratch" and got rid of the MSG.

There is definitely something wrong with this recipe. I think the salt should probably read 1/2 tsp. It was so salty, we couldn't eat it. It also only rose up about an inch. Compared to other beer bread recipes, this one uses much less flour for the amount of baking powder it asked for. I would probably rewrite this to make it work better adding...
