Reviewed Quinoa Salad

Apr 24, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Easy to make quickly and tasted great. It was light but I am full. I didn't add chicken or the actual orange pieces, but added the juice from the orange I was already eating! Tasted it as is and thought it was great! About half way through I decided to add some Feta cheese and thought that was great too, but if you go this route, keep in mind that"

Reviewed Spaghetti alla Carbonara

Feb 3, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Pretty good considering I scrambled the eggs just a little and couldn't find pancetta in my grocery store so I just used bacon. But even with those two things it was still pretty creamy and tasty. I think next time if I remove from the heat instead of keeping it on, I won't scramble at all and it will turn out much better.""

Reviewed Cauliflower Sauce with Whole-Wheat Penne

Feb 3, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I thought it was pretty good the way it is. It says to slice the garlic and remove it after infusing with the oil, which I did not do, I minced all 3 cloves and left them in which I think helped a lot, but that was the only change I made. Next time I might try adding some white wine and/ or red pepper flakes but I do like it the way it is.""

Reviewed Mascarpone and Lemon Gnocchi

Jan 18, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I tried 3 times and couldn't get the gnocchi to come out. Every time it was too mushy. I just couldn't figure out why. I tried the mushy ones and they would have been wonderful if they were cooked all the way through but I just couldn't get it to happen. I tried less time and more but it just wouldn't work. Suggestions would be great!""

Reviewed Chicken with Peruvian Chile Sauce

Jan 18, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was great! I think it would have been better if I could have found the actual Aji Amarillo paste, but I searched everywhere and could not find it. I took someone else's suggestion and put in cayenne and curry powder. The addition of the curry powder did make it taste a bit like curry, but it was still delicious. ""

Reviewed Coconut Cilantro Rice with Peas and Cashews

Jan 18, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Amazing!! I personally could have used more cashews but that is minor and next time I might even add some pineapple!

Side note to everyone having problems with the liquid: In the show, Guy puts in about 3 cups of liquid TOTAL. So he puts in about 2 cups of coconut milk and 1 cup of chicken stalk, NOT 3 cups of stalk. Hope this helps...

Reviewed Chicken Salad

Jan 9, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I LOVED this. Totally not what I was expecting when I went to make chicken salad today! Followed the recipe to a t except that I used dry herbs because I was planning on using a different recipe with different herbs, but it still turned out great. Can't wait to have leftovers later!""

Reviewed Almost-Famous Rosemary Bread

Great bread. It was easy to make and came out amazing. We ate almost all of it in one sitting.""

Reviewed Chicken Piccata

Dec 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was really good. We have also eaten it over spaghetti, the lemon sauce makes a really nice spaghetti sauce and it takes down the flavor of the lemon just a bit. Overall a really good dish either way. ""

Reviewed Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes

Dec 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made these on thanksgiving this year and they were super tasty. Very easy to make. The buttermilk added an extra creaminess that was a perfect addition.""

Reviewed Herb-Roasted Turkey Breast

Dec 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this on Thanksgiving this year and it was amazing. There were just two of us this year so we only had the breast (and a lot of leftovers) and it was one of the best turkeys I have ever had. Even my mom, who got to try leftovers, thought it was amazing. It was juicy and flavorful and super easy to make. And I used dry herbs because it was a...

Reviewed Guacamole

Dec 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The best guacamole I have ever eaten. I make it all the time and I always get complements on it when I make it for other people. ""

Reviewed Pink Grapefruit Margaritas

Dec 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Delicious margaritas. I usually make them with Rose's lime juice just to make it easier on myself and to add in a bit of sugar but they are amazing no matter what. Any margarita fan would love these.""

Reviewed Broccoli and Bow Ties

Dec 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Awesome recipe. My boyfriend and I make this all time. We have perfected this recipe. The only thing we change is that we use sliced almonds instead of pine nuts because for some reason I can't seem to find pine nuts at my grocery store. But adding any nut is an amazing addition, I love it. Easy and great recipe.""

Reviewed Pasta alla Formiana

Dec 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I think it could have been amazing, if it weren't for the overwhelming amount of oregano. My boyfriend and I both couldn't finish our dishes and we threw out the rest. Giada warned that you had to really love oregano, and I do, but it was still too much. If I make it again I will put in significantly less oregano and it will probably be great.""

Reviewed Fresh Pasta Rollatini with Spinach and Ricotta

Dec 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

It was a great dish but I agree with someone else who said it was a bit "doughy." I also added a lot more ricotta because the mixture seemed a bit dry at first. And I happened to only have garlic marinara sauce so I am not sure how much the dish needed garlic as most people seemed to indicate, since my sauce had garlic in it anyway.""

Reviewed Chicken in Creamy Tomato Curry: Chicken Tikka Masala

Dec 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

It was delicious! A little on the spicy side for my personal preference but next time I will just take out one of the peppers. One of the best Indian dishes I have ever made at home.""
