My Activity

Reviewed Buttercream

"I'm usually an Alton Brown Fanboy, but this recipe is junk. I've tried this on four separate occasions, and have ended up with lots of difficult to clean pots and wasted ingredients. Thank goodness eggs and sugar are cheap. It's impossible to incorporate the hot syrup into the eggs, it just hardens and drops into the bottom of the mixer where it forms a big gooey ball. If you incorporate it even slower it sets up in the pan and you are looking forward to a half hour of cleaning sugar syrup out of your pots, baster, mixer bowl, etc. This recipe is listed as easy and fast, it is neither. Don't waste your time on this one, frost your cake with something else.

Reviewed Eggnog

"Simply delicious, I like the cooked version better, but that's just personal preference. Infinitely tinker-able, try some cinnamon and ground ginger alongside the nutmeg and you'll wonder why you ever bought a pint of the megamart swill in the first place.

Reviewed Ganache Frosting

"I'm not sure what the "j" is at the top of the ingredients list, but this frosting is amazing. Make sure if you whip it into a lighter consistency and frost the outside of a cake with it that the cake can stand up to the intense chocolate flavors this badboy brings.
