"Everytime I make this recipe, I say to myself, "Any recipe that starts with frying bacon in butter can't be all bad!". This is the best split pea soup recipe I've ever had. I'd swear that it had a finite amount of house seasoning in the recipe itself when I first printed it out to make- they really should correct that for first time cooks that may cook literally by the book! I'd hate to see someone throw all that house seasoning in an ruin a great soup by over-seasoning!
