Reviewed Smothered Chicken and Biscuits

This chicken recipe is very good. The chicken is flavorful and moist. I changed one thing however. Whenever a recipe calls for water, I usually add chicken broth instead (or white wine, if I have it on hand). I cooked until the meat was almost falling off the bones. There isn't much "gravy", but it is delicious. I didn't make the biscuits. "

I must say I am a fan of Ree's recipes, but this first time out making these biscuits...I am truly disappointed. They rose pretty well, but the aftertaste of buttermilk was extremely bitter and overpowering. I had to throw the entire batch in the trash. I will make them again using the instructions by a previous reviewer to only use about a 1 c"

I am requested to make this sandwich for almost every party I attend. I have been making it for the last five years! It is always a hit! I always add fresh mozzarella or an Italian blend of cheeses to the sausage mixture because we LOVE CHEESE, but the blend of flavors in this recipe are what makes it DE-LISH!! Thanks, Emeril!!"
