Reviewed Kalbi (Marinated Short Ribs

Feb 20, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Really enjoyed this. I used ginger ale instead of lemon lime soda as that is what I had on hand. Marinated for about 8 hrs. Next time will marinade over night. Still had good flavor but I can imagine it is even better with more time.""

Fantastic! The orange peel really added an extra zip to these. I didnt have berries so I cut up the oranges I had used from the orange peel and just put them on top. ""

I did add 2 pieces of bacon just to beef up the smokiness. Decent beans but not the best I ever had""

Great recipe. Made a huge amount. Next time I will cut them much thicker though. I was very surprised how easy the dough was to roll out. It seemed really sticky but rolled out in seconds. I did not make the icing as written. I omitted the coffee and maple extract and just used vanilla extract. I cannot wait to make these again.""

Fantastic tandoori chicken - tastes like the real thing. I put the marinade on the night before and let it sit in the frig. I didn't leave any for sauce as I had extra chicken. We are making it again tomorrow for family in town.""

Fantastic flavor although I did make a lot of modifications just based on pantry supplies. I did not have white peppercorns but had pink ones. I did not have ancho chili powder but had chipotle red pepper flakes which I ground with the peppercorns and coriander. I had special dark unsweetened cocoa. I also browned the meat in a pan after the ...

I made these into cupcakes and used special dark cocoa because I ran out of the regular. Really nice flavor and very light and fluffy. I am going to make this again for my daughters birthday.""

Reviewed Grilled Fuji-n-Chick 'Wich

Oct 6, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was really good. I did take some shortcuts though. I had turkey lunch meat in the frig so I used that. I also cooked the onions and apples in a bowl in the microwave for 1 minute. Then proceeded with the rest of the recipe as is. Great flavor - did not feel "diet" and really helped with my craving for something "non-diet food"""

Reviewed Fresh Peach Cake

Jun 19, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Fantastic - it is like a coffee cake but more satisfying for dessert then a coffee cake. I had to cook mine for about 1hr on convection heat using a 9 x 9 pan. I used 5 small peaches instead of large ones. Also used large eggs as that is what I had. I will definitely make again."

The mashed potatoes were fantastic but the beef mixture was lacking. It needed a stronger beef flavor. I added some worchestershire sauce and a little sage to give it a little more flavor. Still needs something. I might increase the beef stock next time and decrease the beer. I didn't find the flavor very authentic."

Very good in spite of myself - I forgot the baking soda. Still had good flavor. Very light and fluffy. I agree that you probably don't need to cook them in butter. It is more important in the batter itself.

Great flavor with very little ingredients. The tomatoes I got were not the best but you couldn't tell after they had been cooked. I also like that I can brown all the vegetables and stack in the dish. Then drizzle and cook later. Good do ahead recipe.

Reviewed Lentil Quinoa Salad

This was just OK. My quinoa did take about 11-12 minutes to cook but I would make it in the microwave again. The vinegarette just did not work for me. I'm not sure why I like all the components just didn't care for it together. I wouldn't make the salad again.
