My Activity

Reviewed Cheddar-Dill Scones

"I gotta say, I couldn't bring myself to put 1 cup of heavy cream into this recipe. I just couldn't. Especially with perfectly good buttermilk in the house. I just added a cup of cold buttermilk instead of a cup of heavy cream. Worked like a charm. You can also substitute low fat cheddar with excellent results. It's not quite the same, but it's fin"

Reviewed The Chewy

"OMG these cookies are so good!!!! absolutely marvelous, i am eating a hot one fresh from the oven while I write this. The base bread flour recipe is superb, I use it with all sorts of add-ins. My favorite is 3/4 cup chopped pecans and 5 chopped up mini heath bars. Alton's recipes are always the best. ""

Reviewed Meringues Chantilly

"Super! We absolutely adored the recipe. As I am incompetent with a pastry bag, I just heaped the meringue on the parchment and smoothed it into a rough disk. I also substituted the framboise for triple sec, that was what we had on hand, and it was perfect! A great dessert for those with a gluten intolerance. "

Reviewed Easy Lobster Paella

"An awesome paella recipe! Had to substitute the lobster for shrimp as good fresh lobster is not available where I live and white wine for the pernod, but this recipe is easy to customize. Definitely a keeper.

Reviewed Eli's Asian Salmon

"I would give this recipe a five out of five, when made with adjustments. First I used half the amount of soy sauce, low sodium. Then I halved the amount of oyster sauce and used only a dash of fish sauce. The topping did not crisp up the way I would have liked, and had to go under the broiler for two-three minutes. Overall, the original recipe is not my favorite of Ina's, but can be adjusted to suit your taste."
