Great base recipe but we found it far too acidic. Shame on me for not tasting he sauce before I served (baby on my hip) but I'm sure it would've been beautiful had I finished it with a healthy nob of butter.

Great seasoning, great liquid to solid ratio. But. I will double the beans next time and add a healthy amount of tomato paste. It lacks a certain depth that I think tomato paste would provide.

Chances are you over zested your lemon. The pith just beneath the skin is really, really bitter. When you zest citrus you have to be very careful to just brush the surface. Other than that, cheap wine could've been your issue.
