Reviewed Summer Garden Pasta

Mar 29, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Simply amazing! Ina does it again. This pasta is flavorful and fresh - best of all it comes together in minutes because you do the tomato mixture beforehand. Perfect for a picnic or summer dinner. "

Reviewed Brie en Croute with Caramel and Walnuts

Mar 12, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Absolutely fantastic! I made this for the first time for a group of friends & got so many compliments - someone told me it was the "best baked brie" they ever had. Don't be afraid of working with the puff pastry, it is simple to put it all together. My only tip would be to definitely spread the sugar evenly and out to the sides of the brie so e"

Reviewed Grilled Marinated Fish with Tropical Salsa and Coconut Rice

Jul 5, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Loved it! This is a really light and tasty way to enjoy fish. It took a bit of prep - chopping mostly - but its easy to do if you make the marinade first, then the salsa and then the coconut rice. Note: all 3 parts require cilantro, so just chop a bunch of it. "

Reviewed Mr. John's Meat-Stuffed Bell Peppers

Jan 26, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Great recipe! I made them more Tex-Mex by using Emeril's Southwest Essence on the cooking meat and by using 8 oz salsa instead of tomato sauce. Topped the peppers with shredded cheese and they were delicious. ""

Reviewed Fried Catfish Po Boy

Jan 12, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a great recipe with lots of flavor! Instead of frying the catfish, I rubbed them with cajun seasoning and pan fried (to lessen the calories, but followed every other step to the T. Many compliments from my husband - the slaw and the garlicky bread and the catfish go so well together. Make it, you will not be disappointed.""

Reviewed Southern Style Steaks

Aug 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this with NY Strip Steaks and it was absolutely wonderful - so much flavor with the Gorganzola & Onions, this recipe makes restaurant quality steaks (if you opt for a tender cut of beef of course.) I added 2 tsp of brown sugar to the onions b/c I like my carmelized onions to be pretty sweet - also I cooked them down for more like 30 minut...

Reviewed Lasagna with Turkey Sausage

Aug 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is the best lasagna recipe I have ever tried. It is so delicious and even better the next day. Thank you Ina!""

Reviewed Avocado and Blue Crab Cakes with a Mango, Papaya and Macadamia Nut Salad Tossed with Spicy Cilantro Dressing

Jun 19, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I usually love Emeril's recipes, but for me this one was not a hit. The crabcakes and salad are okay, but with the cost of the ingredients and the effort involved, okay just doesn't cut it. I felt this lacked flavor - the crabcakes needed a little "bam!" if you know what I mean. I will not be making this again. "

Reviewed Salmon Cakes with Lemon-Caper Yogurt Sauce

Mar 7, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I was looking for something new to do with salmon and I found it! These salmon cakes were absolutely delicious. I thought the yogurt sauce was a little too lemony, so I serve these instead with creme fraiche mixed with dill, lemon and capers. If you're pressed for time, they don't "need" to refrigerate for a full hour, 20 or 30 minutes will do...

Reviewed Orzo with Feta and Tomatoes

Mar 7, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This made a simple and fresh side dish, but it was a little lacking in flavor. Could be improved by the addition of garlic, additional chopped herbs or maybe some fresh squeezed lemon juice."

Reviewed Bobby's Hot Tomato, Jack and Crab Dip

Mar 7, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very good & very rich crab dip! I accidentally used 1/2 the recommended amount of crab and it was still very crabby, so I can only think using the full amount would be even better. Works really well with blue corn tortilla chips. This recipe makes LOTS of dip, so use it for a crowd."

Reviewed Shrimp and Pasta in a Tomato-Chile Cream Sauce

Mar 7, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Fantastic restaurant-quality dish! I made this recipe the first time for a Valentine's Day dinner. It turned out to be amazing! The spicy flavor w/ the cream sauce and tomatoes results in a "light" delicious pasta dish. Also, I did not add the salt when cooking the shrimp & didn't miss it. "
