Reviewed Cranberry Orange Scones

"Outstanding scone recipe! We have eaten scones in many parts of the world and this recipes produces the best of best. I served the scones with real butter (forget the clotted cream which isn't available in the USA anyway. They were sooo good and I must confess...offered homemade red raspberry jam on the side. I froze some of the baked scones a"

Reviewed Peach Ice Cubes

"I made these ice cubes with fresh and nicely ripe SC peaches. I followed the directions exactly but was not at all pleased with the result. The prepared cubes had an odd color, were extremely sweet, and would muddy the color of most drinks. Really a waste of lovely peaches! "

Reviewed Fresh Peach Ice Cream (Regular and Diet Versions)

"Absolutely wonderful! The key to this recipe is to chill the prepared ingredients at least two hours before adding them to the ice cream maker. I put the freezer and the dasher in the freezer overnight. A tip for those who did not like the almond flavoring...I added to the mixture 1 Tbsp Grand Marnier, 1/2 tsp good vanilla and a generous pinch o..."

Reviewed Potato Salad

"Probably the best potato salad I have ever made after years of trying various recipes. I cut the amount of dressing called for in half and then followed the recipe exactly using new red potatoes. Another reviewer was correct...there is way too much dressing for 2 lbs of potatoes. I'm making the potato salad again today, using the original amount"

About Me

I am a retired home economist and in retirement I have found "gourmet" cooking to be a great joy. I'm very particular when it comes to selecting recipes and of all the sites on the web, Food Network is simply the best.

I especially enjoy the reviews and often get my laugh for the day when reading them. The best one ever, "Where can I buy bacon grease?" The reviews are terrific and extremely helpful. Many reviewers are "spot on" with the comments saving time, money, and failed attemps.
