Reviewed Cranberry Orange Scones

Mar 7, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Outstanding scone recipe! We have eaten scones in many parts of the world and this recipes produces the best of best. I served the scones with real butter (forget the clotted cream which isn't available in the USA anyway. They were sooo good and I must confess...offered homemade red raspberry jam on the side. I froze some of the baked scones a"

Reviewed Peach Ice Cubes

Jun 29, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made these ice cubes with fresh and nicely ripe SC peaches. I followed the directions exactly but was not at all pleased with the result. The prepared cubes had an odd color, were extremely sweet, and would muddy the color of most drinks. Really a waste of lovely peaches! "

Reviewed Fresh Peach Ice Cream (Regular and Diet Versions)

Jun 11, 2012 in null on Food.com

Absolutely wonderful! The key to this recipe is to chill the prepared ingredients at least two hours before adding them to the ice cream maker. I put the freezer and the dasher in the freezer overnight. A tip for those who did not like the almond flavoring...I added to the mixture 1 Tbsp Grand Marnier, 1/2 tsp good vanilla and a generous pinch...

Reviewed Zucchini Gratin

With more zucchini coming out of our garden than I know what to do with--I tried this recipe. It is AWESOME! My husband (the prolific gardener said it was about as good as it gets. You have the most trustworthy recipes on the internet, Ina. All the recipe testing and re-testing really pays off for us homecooks. (I do have to watch the amount "

Reviewed Potato Salad

Jul 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Probably the best potato salad I have ever made after years of trying various recipes. I cut the amount of dressing called for in half and then followed the recipe exactly using new red potatoes. Another reviewer was correct...there is way too much dressing for 2 lbs of potatoes. I'm making the potato salad again today, using the original amount"

A wonderful, wonderful dessert, Ina. I have a friend who must eat only cooked fruit and vegetables, nothing fresh, due to a specific kind of cancer. This recipe was a simply the best kind of dessert I could have prepared for her. Thank you for providing such an innovative (and delicious!) solution to a difficult problem."

Reviewed Almond Rice Pilaf

May 24, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

A tasty, easy-to-prepare side dish that pleases everyone. I did change the prep slightly as another reviewer suggested. I melted the butter, lightly toasted sliced almonds, then added 1/2 cup of small dice green onions and cooked them slightly. From there I continued on with the recipe as written. Delicious! "

Reviewed Red Wine Beef Stew with Potatoes and Green Beans

Dec 3, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Terrific recipe with many layers of flavor. I added portabella mushrooms and skipped the green beans. One thing I did do extra...I seasoned each layer of veggies as I added them. It is also important, especially in this recipe, to use only wine you would drink as it is a major contributor to the flavor. What a great dish for a chilly night!

Reviewed Raisin Pecan Oatmeal Cookies

Dec 3, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is an excellent amazing, five star recipe; no doubt the best oatmeal cookie recipe I've used in many years. I did make this into an "everything" cookie, adding not only raisins but chocolate chips and some coconut. They were so good and so easy.

Reviewed Blue Cheese and Walnut Crackers

Dec 3, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I love Ina's recipes, I love blue cheese, and unfortunately I love salt, plus I measure accurately but WOW! these were way over the top with salt. Our grocery store did not carry Stilton so I substituted the best blue cheese I could buy (Rosenborg). I did use unsalted butter. I think the cheese brought the saltiness up way up. Sorry, Ina, this...
