Reviewed Butternut Squash and Pork Lasagna
"Outstanding. I made half squash and half zucchini...trying to decide which I like best. Pre prep the Ragu on a weekend when you have lots of time (football is over soon. And then bring it out for weekday meals.
I will experiment with this ragu for a variety of flavors, sausage, chicken etc. A great recipe on its own and a great template to exp"
Reviewed Kicked Up Cole Slaw
"This is it, this is the Cole Slaw I've looking for ....for years. I was out of sour cream due to making nachos, so I subbed in Greek Yogourt for the SCream. This is perfect, just the right amount of acidity offset by the small amount of sugar and creaminess. ....Just a little pop, but no overpowering.
This is a winner and a keeper."
Reviewed Pancake Lasagna
"Outstanding Breakfast or Brunch dish. Prepared it for Christmas morning and it was a big hit.
We are more of a savory prone family, so I renamed it Breakfast Lasagna and excluded the Maple syrup. To cut down on the time on Christmas morning, I also subbed in good bread instead of pancakes.
I placed syrup, hot sauce and ketchup on the table for p"

Reviewed Beef and Black Bean Chili with Toasted Cumin Crema and Avocado Relish
"First Flay recipe that I didn't like. The Ancho/Pasilla chiles were excellent. The beer reduction is silky smooth and rich...but 3-4 C. chicken stock in combo with the black beans, which don't break down for thickener, simply don't cut it.
I simmered it for an hour and still too soupy.
The flavor is awesome, but it's more like a chili/black bean soup. If you insist on following directions you will not be happy. If you have to use this recipe, insert 1 cup of kidney beans to breakdown for thickener in addition to the black beans....Just use pureed tomatoes and omit chick stock.
You still the man Bobby...but passing on this one.
Reviewed Curried Chicken Salad Sandwich with Almonds and Raisins
"This is Party worthy. I used Red Curry and grapes because I didn't have raisins. If you use raisins, soak them in slightly warm water to hydrate them slightly, and then let them dry for 10 minutes. Let the curry power up the dish by adding a little extra and cutting back on the raisins/grapes by half. That way the sweetness is more of a surprise when it hits you on a few bites. Almonds are critical for crunch. Great stuff on bed of salad or on bread.
