I had some doubts about the dressing, but found this delicious. Was a great first course , much lighter and less rich than many. The next time, I'll cut the fennel slices vertically too, for still smaller pieces.

Delicious! The only change I made was to use Stilton instead of Gorgonzola. Made the apple and onion confit well in advance.

Having read some of the reviews was a big help. I tried something new, and microwaved the beans in water, covered, for 10 minutes, then let them sit, still covered, to cool. Had to add more water, then put in fridge overnight. Even so, I cooked the soup for close to an hour and a half on low before pureeing with an immersion blender.

Delicious! I could have had it as a main course and been happy. Used salted butter, but cut down on the amount of salt added. Used panko instead of breadcrumbs.

I have made this twice. The second time, I improved it for my taste buds by using about 3/4 of the cranberries, 1 1/2 apples, and extra white sugar in the fruit mixture. Extra vanilla in the cake topping and I found it delicious.Served with vanilla ice cream."
