The flavors were definitely there, but the butter was WAY too much. Not only was the whole thing a wet, greasy mess, but both my husband and I had stomach aches for hours after eating this! You could easily cut down to 2-3 tablespoons of butter. Also, I will put the crunchy onions on top only. It became soggy in the casserole.

It was a stunning dish, and I followed every step plus added asparagus tips. I think it's perfect for summer because it's light, BUT it was almost too boring. I thought that, despite it being gorgeous to look at and incredibly fragrant, the taste did not translate. I would make it again, but know it doesn't taste how it looks."
