Reviewed Sweet Potatoes Glazed with Molasses, Pecans and Bourbon

Dec 3, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The bourbon and molasses were too STRONG! Try using half as much and gradually add to taste. You have to burn off the alcohol too. Whew!""

Reviewed Weeknight Bolognese

This was delicious BUT I cut the salt to 1 1/2 tsp. and pepper to 1 tsp. It was plenty peppery and needed no more salt. It looks likes from other reviews that people found it too salty. 1 tablespoon really is a lot! ""

Reviewed Mocha Chocolate Icebox Cake

This is scrumptious. We don't have Tate's cookies so I used Pepperidge Farms chocolate chunk--not good a choice. The cookies were too lumpy. You need a flat crisp cookie with smaller chocolate chips. Other than that, I'd make it again --Yummy."

Reviewed Broccoli Pie

Jun 26, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I'd serve this with the dressing on the side--just for ease of handling. It is actually just like onion dip, just thicker to stand up to the piping. I preferred using Ranch seasoning. The yogurt and cream cheese is a nice low cal version."

Reviewed Herb Roasted Cornish Game Hens

Forgot to mention-- I did not use foil or a rack on the pan. No sticking, lots of juices."

The seasonings on the veggies and chicken are sooo good. I made it exactly as printed with the exception that I used a whole chicken, split in half. It cooked for 1 1/2 hours. Yummy. I'd definitely make it again."

Reviewed Caprese Mozzarella Salad Bites

Jun 26, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These are tasty, crunchy and light. I'd make them again for a party. I did use fresh mozzarella sliced in pieces."

Really tangy, sweet frosting. Mine was a bit heavy, so cut small slices. Gotta have a cup of coffee with it because the frosting is intense. Yummy. "

I liked this sandwich except for the prosciutto texture. It's a bit tough in a sandwich. I'd like to try it with salami next time. "

There is something wrong with the written directions. I too had to throw out the batch. Too soupy. What a waste of supplies.
Help, Paula!"

Reviewed Cajun Turkey Burgers with Cayenne Curly Fries

They are very tasty and I'd make them again, just smaller. The portions are generous. Curly fries turned out fine too."

I just made this recipe and now I know what the problem is: it's the slimy okra. This recipe has a good flavor but the okra makes an awful consistency. Substitute okra with peas or green beans and it'll be fine. I don't think okra was meant to be a food."
