Reviewed Cauliflower Soup and Garlic and Cheese Sourdough "Dippers"

Sep 30, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Added 8 oz of cheddar per prior reviews, as well as some carrots. Also roasted the cauliflower to give it more depth. Tasted awesome!!!"

Reviewed Jalapeno Cheddar Cornbread

Jul 21, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Ok but I wouldn't call it "Cornbread"- the corn flavor is lost...instead very floury, texture like cake. Will not be making again."

Way too watered down- had to almost double the lemons. "

Reviewed Grilled Salmon with Herb and Meyer Lemon Compound Butter

Jun 15, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Didn't have thyme and used 1/2 the butter and it was still AWESOME!! Best salmon I've ever had. "

Reviewed Spinach Artichoke Pasta Salad

Jun 9, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

LOVE this recipe! Make it often for lunch at work instead of boring PB & J. Omit the onions. Only caution is it gets soggy after a couple of days in the fridge so must be eaten quickly."

Reviewed Bay Scallop Gratin

Jun 9, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

We used water instead of wine and regular bread crumbs instead of panko and it turned out a soggy mess! Follow the recipe :("

Reviewed Tuscan Vegetable Soup

May 12, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Will add more beans (made it as a main dish) and spinach next time and probably another clove of garlic. Did not add parm and was still tasty- french bread & butter on the side helped :)"

Reviewed Barbecued Chinese Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Apr 30, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Not a fan. The orange zest overpowered everything and I could not appreciate the other ingredients. The prep time was not worth the final product."

Reviewed Stir-Fried Chinese Vegetables

Apr 30, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

disapppointed! The prep time was more than 20 minutes and the taste was bland and not worth it at all."

Reviewed Mojitos

Apr 29, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Made my own simple syrup, halved the lemons and decreased rum some per other reviews. It was great!"

Reviewed Huevos Rancheros

Jan 4, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Fun and colorful- not crazy about the combination of flavors. Will use the grating technique to make salsa again, though!""

Reviewed Shortbread Cookies

Dec 18, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very good flavor- found dough crumbly and hard to work with though and my butter was room temp. Used 60% dark chocolate (Ghiridelli chips) and thought the chocolate was too overpowering- this coming from a chocolate lover! The shortbread on its own was better- maybe next time I'll use a lighter chocolate, or just eat them plain. ""

Reviewed Pork Tenderloin with Apple Cider Reduction

Dec 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very moist--good flavor. My husband doesn't like vinegar but the final product wasn't vinegary at all. ""

Reviewed Pumpkin Bread

Oct 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very good but frustrating that the cooking time was so off. I took it out when I thought it was ready and the middle collapsed after turning it over. Guess I should have read the reviews! Definitely takes > 1 hour to bake fully.""

Reviewed S'more Brownies

Jul 31, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

A lot of work! As other reviewers said, the marshmallows were a mess! Definitely try some of their tricks below. I made it as the recipe stated and tried to cut while hot but still a gooey mess and the tops of the marshmallows wouldn't stay in place. The graham cracker crust was excellent- the brownie part was ok....I think you could use boxed bro"

Reviewed Sesame Chicken With Snow Peas

May 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Good, but tasted more like "ginger chicken" to us- next time I'll cut the ginger in half to bring out more of the sesame flavor..."

Reviewed Grilled Salmon Fillet with Honey-Mustard Sauce

May 29, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Baked the salmon and omitted the horse radish and mint. The sauce was fantastic and we used the leftovers on grilled chicken- yummy!"

Reviewed Easy Chicken-Mushroom Quesadillas

Feb 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very good! Used canned mushrooms and half an onion. Just make sure to grease the hot plate well before placing the tortilla on it--- we burned the first side and had to scrape it off and replace with new tortilla :)

Reviewed Three Vegetable Penne with Tarragon-Basil Pesto

Feb 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Great! Used dried Tarragon b/c couldn't find fresh in the winter and used regular green beans. Cooked the pasta with the veggies longer than recommended until they were tender. Enjoyed very much!
