"Made these with devil's food cake mix and they were VERY good. Several days later made them with red velvet cake mix (and added a tsp. of chocolate extract) and they were not as tasty. Will definitely make these again with chocolate cake mix, and may try banana mix as well. I had been searching for a good "cake mix cookie" recipe, and I will definitely be using this one as my "go to" recipe.

"I made these according to directions, but increased the chocolate chips to one cup (1/2 C. is not enough), and added a scant teaspoon of cardamom for a unique flavor (this amount gave it a very mild flavor - I could have added a heaping teaspoon). These are very, very good. Nice and gooey - will make again!

"With a 5 star rating, what more is there to say? I did add 1/2 tsp. of almond extract, as I do with my sugar cookie cutouts. I needed to use up some colored sprinkles, so this was perfect. These would be great to take to the school when it's my turn to bake for a party. Not sure that I will add this to my Christmas tray though, as you can get a similar cookie in the grocery store, and my family has a number of other "must haves" that cannot be bought.
