My Activity

Reviewed Citrus Shortbreads

"These are heavenly!!! My only concern is that my bars werre done in 40 minutes, not nearly 1 hour 20 min. I agree with the other reviewer: check between 30-40 minutes!""

About Me

Hi! I'm Stefanie-a 37-yr old student at University of Phoenix, getting my bachelor's in social work. I have an awesome husband of 11 years, Doug, and two precocious daughters, Keira (7 1/2) and Katrina (4 1/2). I consider myself a Professional Mommy and the COO (Cheif Operating Officer) of my home

I love baking, reading, teaching preschool, singing-dancing-acting, writing fiction, being with my girls, date nights with Doug, everything Harry Potter (I'm such a geek! ), and attending my awesome church, God's House Orlando!

My grandmother has always inspired me to cook. She bakes like she did in the "Old Country" (Croatia), and I've learned not only great recipes but life lessons as she taught me to bake (and lick the bowl). She has passed on, so I'm teaching my girls everything Grammy taught me, to keep her spirit (and recipes) alive and the girls connected to their heritage.

Favorite Foods

I love cooking stir-fry meals- asian and thai food are my favorites. I'm known for my "walkaways" (Grammy's recipe, of course). They're a pastry containing cream cheese, ground walnuts, and lemon peel. They're called "walkaways" because people literally walk away with them the minuteI bring them to a gathering!

My favorite restaurant is Seasons 52, which features fresh food from local growers based on the seasons of the year, even the weeks of peak flavors. They have foods such as Edamame with Green Tea Sea Salt and the best butternut squash soup I've ever tasted! They use heart-healthy oils (no butter) and only the freshest herbs. I could go on and on, but this would turn into a novel!!
