Reviewed Old-Fashioned Apple Crisp

Jul 4, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Ina Garten is the best when it comes to old-fashioned recipes. This is a wonderful recipe and I am sure I will be making it a few times more. Today is my mom's first day of baking and she didn't find this recipe even slightly daunting. We used granny Smith, figured that any apple would end up delicious in this recipe and made it sugar-free by usin"

This is my favorite go-to mac and cheese recipe ever!! I've never made it with Gruyere, never been inclined towards buying expensive cheese for low-key weeknight dinner but I am hoping to try it some day. I use a combination of sharp cheddar and Parmesan/mozzarella and it ALWAYS works.
I generally don't like nutmeg but love the flavor it...

Since I am not a meat-eater, cannot comment on the burger."

I love this dish. It is one of my go-to recipes for lunch when I am in no mood to cook. People who said it needs more broccoli are right. An extra pod of garlic doesn't hurt either."

Oh my gosh! These are the yummiest veggie Sloppy Joes I've ever tasted. I agree that it reminds me a little of chili but the brown sugar and a splash of ketchup (my additio)n really really takes it to another level. Made it for dinner and my bread is baking in the oven but the gravy is already half over because my husband and I have been in and ou"

Reviewed Almost-Famous Soft Pretzels

Mar 5, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

OMG! Believe me when I say this is the best pretzels I've ever made because I've tried a zillion others before I stumbled upon this on this morning. It is soft, super-yummy and goes wonderfully with the sweet mustard dip.
One thing though. The amount of butter seemed way OT to me so used 3 Tbsps. Two while making the dough and melted the...

I don't know why some people gave this cake less than three stars. I followed this recipe (with a few modifications, of course. I added 1 1/4 cup oil and 1/4 cup butter, 1 1/2 Tbsp cocoa and 1 tsp coffee granules. The cream cheese frosting came out so fluffy. One thing though. I did not add the complete quantity of sugar specified for the frosting...

Reviewed Eggplant Timbale

Feb 18, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

this was one of the best finds on the website. I am a vegetarian and had quite a lot of fun figuring out what veggies I can replace with meat. I went with red and yellow peppers, broccoli and olives. Though my timbale was a tad loosely packed and it crumbled a little when I served, the dish came out beautifully.

I watched the repeat schedule of the show a couple of weeks back on food tv and was itching to make it to eat with corn chips. It was awesome! Perfect amount of sweet, salt and smoky. I used the broil option on my oven (I just wanted to try it out since I am new to baking) and apparently I was right! It was our evening snack and mu husband loved it!...
