My Activity

Reviewed Breakfast Trifle Grits

"Very tasty. I normally don't prefer sweet grits, but with the tomatoes, cheese, etc. It turned very good. I'm a grits person, so I liked it. My friend liked it. My only thing is when I make this again, I'll likely sub bacon in lieu of the sausage. I think bacon would taste better. "

Reviewed Potato Latkes

"Pretty good! This was my first time making latkes, so I'm glad I read the reviews beforehand. I'm not sure why the recipe doesn't mention squeezing the excess liquid from the potatoes, but I think that's a crucial step. Next time I try this I'll make the apple sauce too. "

Reviewed Cajun Mac and Cheese

"Meh...this is pretty tasty for a mac and cheese. Not the best I've had, but pretty good. I was expecting more heat, but I think the Cajun seasoning I used wasn't the best. Next time I think I'll add a dash of cayenne. My only real complaint about this recipe is that it calls for 12oz of pasta instead of a pound. That just seems weird and it would "

Reviewed Rib Eye Steak with Onion Blue Cheese Sauce

"The sauce is very tasty, but as others have mentioned it is also very rich. I would recommend putting this on the side in a dipping dish. The picture is pretty accurate, but once you start cutting into that yummy steak it can get a bit messy. I will definitely try this again, but I think next time in lieu of onions I'll use shallots. "

Reviewed Corned Beef Hash

"This is very, very tasty! Since I used leftover corned beef and cabbage I had made in the crock pot, I omitted adding any extra cooking liquid. The veggies and beef had enough liquid already. Once everything heats up then it starts to release. Also, it really does take about 7-8 minutes on medium high to get that nice char on the outside. If you w"

Reviewed Slow Cooked Corned Beef & Cabbage

"I made this recipe because I wanted to use the leftovers for corned beef hash. I like the fact that you can throw all this in the slow cooker; however, I think I may have used too many carrots and potatoes because everything didn't fit in my 6qt slow cooker. I had to transfer pots several times (lol) and it still came out fine. "

Reviewed Grandma Jean's Potato Salad

"I normally don't like mustard-based potato salads, but this one is a real winner and I really enjoyed it. It's not too sweet and not too tart. I made this with some baby back ribs and I'll be making this again, especially in the summer months for BBQ meals. "

Reviewed Garlic Sauteed Spinach

"This is an easy and simple recipe. The flavor is delicious, but not so overpowering that you don't get the great flavor from the spinach. Really great! I skipped the lemon."
