My dad wanted and bought (with advice) filets from a butcher shop for his 82nd birthday dinner which I was hosting. I had never made filets and even tho he wanted them cooked on the grill, I said that the grill wouldn't work (charcoal and uncontrollable), I said I would try Ina's method. My mom had an old iron skillet and I followed this recipe. B"

I found this to be a little bland. Next time I might use a "seasoned salt" instead of just the paprika and marjoram. I used red peppers instead of green. The Lawrey's would add more flavor, I think. Would probably include some white meat chicken, too, for those you like that better. My LeCruset 5 qt. fryer did a nice job making this a one pan dish"

This recipe didn't work for me. I followed it exactly but the meat came out tough, the carrots were not cooked, and the tomatoes overwhelmed the other flavors. I made it for family Sunday dinner and wound up apologizing. "

A flavorful recipe. I marinated the meat overnight, didn't wipe it dry or add extra salt, and cooked it on the grill. I let the coals get just past their peak so it took a little longer but came out well done on the ends and rare in the middle, just how it should be, but nothing charred or burnt. The herb butter at the end was a topper. (Used dry "

A great summer salad without mayo. For a large group I added some orzo and beefed up the dressing amounts. A great, easy, recipe for a change from the heavy mayo salads. Add and subtract what you like. I added red pepper and used olive oil. Some nice flavor differences between the veggies and dressing. "

I've made this a few times now for different groups/family and it has been a hit. A nice, simple, cool salad that everyone loves. And you can add some chopped onion and/or pepper(red) for more flavor. I cheat and use real bacon bits. My brother dislikes hard boiled eggs but loved this salad. I've served it from a bowl or on a leaf of butter lettu"

Great recipe for everyday or special dinners. I've changed it up a bit using other hardy veggies (cauli, brocc, carrots combo)and it works well. Just make a good cheese sauce. Yes I've cheated and used frozen veggie (thawed) in a time pinch and it still impresses.

This is a great recipe that gets easier each time you make it. It's also versatile in that as long as you use quality cheese you can use different kinds. I like to change it up a bit and use smoked cheeses, expecially gouda or cheddar. I often top with pre-cooked bacon pieces or pepperoni. I've also made it without the breadcrumb topping as a time...
