My Activity

Reviewed Broccoli Salad

"This salad turned out great! I've made it 2 times each a little differently. I use 2 med. or 1 large/1 small head of broccoli and par cook it for about 3-5 min. so it still has crunch and bright green color. I've tried shredded cheese the 1st time and tiny cubes the next time. I prefer the cubes b/c the shredded cheese was difficult to incorpor"

Reviewed Honey Wheat Bread

"This is the best wheat bread I've ever had. It's light and slightly sweet. I was disappointed that this recipe had no directions on how long to let it rise and so on. I am new to making bread without a bread machine and this is only the second one I've tried. For my first resting period, it didn't rise very much after 60 min. so I turned on my""

Reviewed Savory Eggs with Peas and Shallots

"I used only 6 eggs and still had leftover's for a family of 4 (I also cooked some whole wheat pancakes to go along with it). I only had extra sharp cheddar cheese so I grated about 1 C. and could have used less since it has such a strong flavor. I wasn't sure how much to use since the recipe doesn't call for an amount. No shallots on hand so I "

Reviewed Honey Whole-Wheat Pancakes with Honey Lime Butter

"My family enjoyed the pancakes very much. Unfortunately I only had about a 1/4 C. of whole wheat flour so I had to add an extra 1/4 C. AP flour. Since I didn't have any limes I used the zest of an orange to go with the honey butter. It was excellent. This recipe is easy to put together."

Reviewed Mint Chocolate Cheesecake

"I used 20 Girl Scout thin mint cookies for my crust and left out the additional sugar that was called for. I used a light sour cream and Neufchatel (light cream cheese) and semi-sweet chocolate chips. I had to cook the cake for an extra 10 min. to get it to set. Unfortunately I did not have an 8 in. square metal pan so I used a round 9 in. meta"

Reviewed Shepherd's Pie

"We loved this recipe. I tweaked it a little. I skipped the bacon and tomato paste and substituted chicken broth for the beer. I didn't have enough potatoes so I added a cooked yam to the potatoes that I had. As I was cooking the beef I added 1/2 tspn. of Emeril's Essence. Instead of fresh carrots and frozen peas, I added a bag of frozen veget"

Reviewed Sloppy Joes

"My family and I enjoyed this recipe. It was easy to put together and did not take long to execute. I omitted the beans and tomato paste since I didn't have any on hand. I added a 15 oz. can of diced tomatoes and 1 Tablespoon of sugar.

Reviewed Skillet Hamburger Stroganoff

"This was a great recipe. 3 out of 4 members of my family enjoyed this (even my husband who hated beef stroganoff as a child) I really liked that it was low fat and had so many veggies in it. It was fairly easy to prepare, just make sure that you allow at LEAST 45 min. (it took me about an hour I think.) I will definitely make this again.
