Reviewed Slow-Cooker Brisket Sandwiches
"I made it and was not really impressed. Because there are only two of us in the house, I used less brisket to the same portion of seasonings. I used a slow cooker and my brisket was still dry. The boyfriend couldn't figure how I could slowly cook that cut of meat in a slow cooker with the ingredients and it still be dry. 'Tis my life."
Reviewed Smothered Pork Chops with Collard Greens
"I wasn't a fan, which was weird because this is how my mother made collard, or should I say, mustard greens. She won't eat collard because they are too tough. I made it for my daughter and she loved them. Which, again, was also weird because she eats nothing I cook. She is 18 and about to graduate. I will try the recipe again. I cooked the hocks in a slow cooker following the recipe. "
Reviewed Cauliflower With Tomatoes
"I loved this recipe. I have always wanted my cauliflower to taste good. I used grape tomatoes instead just for convenience. I was very easy and very tasty. Try it."

Reviewed Smashed Potato, Parsnips and Rutabaga
"I am not a fan of Paula Deen. Well I have made this one and only recipe. I just find her irritating. I have saved a chicken fried steak recipe for later and this one. OH MY GOD!!!!!
This was the best mashed potatoes I have ever had. I used what I had in my pantry. I added turnips to the recipe and used very small red potatoes. The recipe calls for so much more, but I was trying to make the dish healthier. I am on a low carb diet. My daughter eats nothing I cook or healthy. She asked for this dish again. I will no longer make traditional mashed potatoes. This will be served in my house along side all of my main dishes that call for potatoes. I couldn't believe how tasty these vegetables where together. Thank you Paula!

Reviewed Chicken and Rice Soup
"I typed the ingredients I had after making a Sunday gravy (spaghetti sauce) with leeks, carrots, and celery. Usually I just make another pot of gravy, but opted to search the ingredients on your website. When I saw this recipe, I realized I had everything to make this soup except for enough chicken broth. I save the chicken breast from fast food fried chicken buckets because it dries out so fast. I had some frozen peas in the freezer and some butternut squash left over from a pot pie. (That's a whole other story. I didn't really closely measure the portions. I just threw everything in the pot. My first go was pretty good. I thought there were too many leeks. Instead of rice I use orzo pasta because it had been in my cabinet forever. But I didn't need the squash after I used a can of hominy from the pantry. Overall, I loved my new standard chicken soup. I will always make a batch when I make Sunday gravy.
