Reviewed sour cream coffee cake

Feb 3, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I made exactly, except I used all purpose flour instead of cake flour and it was great, but think I'll try cake flour next time. Sour Cream really makes the batter dense and delicious. I think it will be even better for Breakfast with coffee. I have several sour cream recipes, but this is the best.

Reviewed soppressata and cheese in puff pastry

I love Ina Garten and all her recipes, am a faithful watcher and have never disliked one recipe, but this was not good. Soppressata has a unique flavor, combined with mustard and gruyere should have been good. I think next time, I would use ham and double the interior layers of meat and cheese. It was mostly bread and not enough filling. I would...

Reviewed Potato and Kale Chips with Lemon Mayonnaise

Mar 3, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Kale Chips were great - didn't make the potato chips this time, trying to cut out of diet. My entire family liked the chips; be careful a little salt goes a long way on these. I roast all my veggies, broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts and asparagus. They all get a nutty wonderful taste. The kale tastes very much like the broccoli and oh ...

This recipe has way too many flavors trying to mesh. The olives are over powering, the onion would be better if sweet onion not red, the pine nuts are very expensive and don't really do anything to help. I usually like Ree Drummond's recipes and her show. This was disappointing. My son added lots of parmesan cheese to try to cover the olive t...

Reviewed Fusilli with Pecorino Romano and Black Pepper

Feb 13, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was delicious, quick and my entire family loved. Make sure you use the course ground pepper which can easily be found in the spice section of the grocery store. I made exactly as recipe except I added a little more spinach just because I had it. Delicious side dish to chicken. Family has asked to make again. Giada never lets you down o...

Reviewed Bacon and Brussel Sprout Hash

Mar 19, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

usually love Tyler's recipes, make lots of them and love them. He is such a incredible chef. This dish is "yuk"...sorry, I made exactly according to directions and didn't love the flavor mixture. Brussel sprouts were mushy, potatoes flavorless; just didn't get the whole mixture. Loved watching you make on the cooking channel and I did serve with...

Reviewed Braised Short Ribs

Mar 1, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Read all reviews- this was good for the most part, but way too much of a tomato paste taste. Putting all the veggies in the food processor to make base is fabulous, but I would substitute less tomato paste and add some beef stock to cut taste. The meat was tender, dish very good. Served with mashed potatoes, a great cold night dinner"

I made last night and it's delicious! The red pepper flakes give a great heat. I did use whole wheat pasta, which requires more liquid so I added a cup of pasta water when tossing. I did not have fresh oregano so used fresh parsley at the end which was good, but will use the oregano next time. I also used a non fat 1/2 and 1/2 which is good for...
