The recipe says that this will last for 5 days in the refrigerator in an airtight container. Any estimate on how long it will stay good using a canning method for storage?

Reviewed Meringues Chantilly with Roasted Berries

This was a great Valentine's Day dessert. Beautiful colors, light, and elegant. I made Ina's Whipped Cream with Orange Liqueur from her other recipe for Meringues Chantilly to dollop on top of the berries. I also added a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. I let the eggs sit out overnight to make sure they came to room temperature so the meringu"

Great dessert cocktail! I agree that its strong, but oh so delicious. I made this for Valentine's day and it went great with Ina's Meringues Chantilly with Roasted Berries. My boyfriend was impressed."

This is yummy, but you really have to like curry and mint. Couple things...my supermarket didn't sell 12-inch wraps or chutney's so I went to a specialty market. Also the chutney was called Major Grey's chutney instead of mango, but I read the ingredients and the only fruit in it was mango. Also, the recipe says it makes 4 servings with 12-inch"

Reviewed Beer Batter Fish and Spicy Chips with Lemon-Habanero Tartar Sauce and Serrano Vinegar

May 5, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I only made the beer battered fish and chips. However, to save some time I cooked the potatoes in the oven to made oven fries while frying the fish. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beer batter for the fish. The seasonings on the fries were great, but very spicy. I think it was my fault for putting too much seasoning on the chips, though. I gave only fou"

Love this idea! When making this for my g/f's and I (who are always on diets), I decided to try skim milk instead of whole, and splenda instead of sugar. Still awesome! I was a little worried about the exchanges but it was still very yummy. Will definitely make this again, maybe add some Kahlua next time. With a little coffee mixed in, who n...

Reviewed Pork Ragu Over Penne

Mar 12, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I read the reviews that people posted about needing more flavor. This is what I did: used boneless pork shoulder (that was my only option), seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Seared the meat in olive oil and butter, then removed to a plate. Then sauteed the veggies in the leftover oil with salt and pepper until soft. Added the veg...

Reviewed Maple-Oatmeal Scones

Mar 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Loved them! I almost followed the recipe exactly. I did not have pure maple syrup on hand, so I used what I had...pancake syrup. Ina would be so disappointed. But other than that, the scones were made just as the recipe instructs. I did not have a biscuit cutter (believe it or not) so I made them like drop cookies. Still came out round, and...

I loved this smoothie....well actually with a little bit of vodka it's more like a screwthie (screw driver + smoothie). Great for a special weekend brunch. I also did not use sugar, but instead used splenda. I loved it. It is filling enough to be a breakfast meal replacement, because of the protein in the yogurt. Thanks Giada!""

Reviewed Honey Mustard and Red Onion Barbecued Chicken

Jan 19, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this recipe for just my husband and me so I reduced the recipe, using only chicken breasts. I didn't have store-bought honey mustard on hand so I made my own...1/3 cup honey & 1/3 cup dijon mustard, refrigerate extra. I did not have curry powder on hand so I just omitted it. Also, I seared the chicken first in a large saute pan, removed...

Nov 27, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I did not make the bolognese, only the chicken. But, I loved the butter/mustard rub. I have a basil plant, so I used fresh basil instead, but it was still delicious. My husband loved it too. The ingredients are things that I always have on hand, and my husband and I eat a lot of chicken. This will definitely be used regularly. ""

Jun 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I also do not have a stockpot as big as Ina's so I added as much as I could. I am not sure if it was because of this or if I simmered it too high, but almost all of the water evaporated. I decided to put the lid on for the last hour. I ended up with only about 3 cups of stock. It was delicious, and perfumed the entire house, but next time I wi"
