Reviewed Caramel Apple Pie - 2003 1st Place Apple

Dec 2, 2013 on

I had only made two apple pies before this recipe! I thought I would give it one more try as I had decided that apples definitely needed to be cooked before putting them into the pie plate. I left out the streusel and used a full pie crust for the top. This recipe is easy and yummy!

Reviewed Blueberry Pie

Sep 5, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

I have been trying a new blueberry pie recipe every year for about 15 years. This is hands down the BEST EVER! I made the crumb topping from the Blueberry Crumb Pie recipe several recipes down from this one instead of the usual crust top. So yummy!"

Reviewed Oven Roasted Lamb Shanks with Roasted Tomatoes and Toasted Orzo

Apr 13, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

I have made the roasted lamb shanks (minus the tomatoes and orzo) for a number of sit down dinners for eight. It is a wonderful comfort food, but also elegant enough to serve for a six course meal. Be sure to use a high quality zinfandel and enjoy hearing your guests say..."This is better than any restaurant lamb dish I have ever had!" Thanks, "

Reviewed Five Spice Sea Scallop with Seared Foie Gras served on Parsnip Puree finished with a Port Wine Fig Sauce

Feb 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

I have made this for my last two dinner parties and have received rave reviews! I use a Chinese five spice that we order from The Spice House instead of making it.
It is best to have one person cooking the scallop and another cooking the fois gras so that nothing gets overcooked! Elegant and yummy!
