Reviewed Baked Penne with Roasted Vegetables

Nov 25, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This makes a great, easy dinner. It's perfect when I'm in the mood for something home-made, but not time intensive. Next time I would consider adding some red pepper flakes for a bit of a kick, but overall the melted cheese and baked marinara sauce make a great and very satisfying combo."

Reviewed Chicken Carbonara

Nov 25, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

What an awesome recipe. I used it with my leftover Thanksgiving turkey, and it was absolutely perfect. I was a little skeptical because I had never made a carbonara recipe before, but this was rich, easy, and a very satisfying use of Thanksgiving leftovers. I served it to three friends that were over for dinner, and they all loved it as well. "

Reviewed Stove Top Mac-n-Cheese

Jul 15, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The flavor in this is great- I loved the addition of just a dash of hot sauce. But the sauce was just a bit too rich. I ended up boiling another cup or two of pasta and adding it to what I had already made to cut the sauce a bit. With the extra noodles, it was perfect. Creamy, cheesy, delicious. Easy to make too! I'll definitely be making it"

Reviewed Burrito Bowl

Jul 9, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Put the pork in the crock pot for a solid 10 hours while I was at work, and came home to a delicious aroma and a great dinner! I did add some extra seasoning to the pork before letting it cook, and then again before frying it up on the stove top (cumin, chili powder, cayenne and a little extra salt). I think the extra seasoning really gave it so"

Reviewed Whole Wheat Israeli Couscous with Ratatouille, Mozzarella and Balsamic Vinaigrette

Jun 16, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Delicious. The balsamic vinaigrette and the mozzarella really complemented each other. I served this slightly warm right off the stove, but think the leftovers will also be great cold. A great summer side option."

Reviewed Lemon Chicken Breasts

Apr 30, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Everything about this dish is perfect. I followed the recipe to a T, and the chicken came out succulent, juicy and delicious. I will be making this over and over again. Love it."

Reviewed Double Blueberry Muffins

Apr 28, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Followed the recipe exactly, and these muffins were perfect. They rose very nicely and were tasty and fluffy. I didn't have any of the density issues that other reviewers mentioned, but since I just followed the recipe I'm not sure what the difference was. Warmed up and with a little butter, these muffins are delicious."

Reviewed Banana Crunch Muffins

Apr 28, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Fabulous muffins- light, fluffy, delicious. My only change for next time would be to use a little less sugar. The banana and coconut add enough sweetness of their own that the full amount of sugar isn't needed. Otherwise- delicious! Will definitely make again."

Reviewed Shrimp and Chorizo Stew

Dec 5, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

My boyfriend and I made this together and loved it. It was a little more time and labor intensive than we expected, but it was so worth the effort. The flavors were phenomenal. Might add barley next time for a little more heartiness. Will definitely be making this again!""

Reviewed Turkey and Artichoke Stuffed Shells with Arrabbiata Sauce

Sep 25, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These shells were fantastic. My boyfriend and I love to spend out Sundays cooking, and this recipe was completely worthwhile. In the future, the only real adjustment I would make would be to add more ricotta. The filling was a little bit overwhelmed by the ground turkey, and a little more ricotta would have balanced it out nicely. My boyfrien...

Reviewed Low-Cal Fettuccine Alfredo

Sep 22, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is very creamy and cheesy- delicious. Despite being low-cal, it's still quite a heavy dish. I think next time it may help to mix in some veggies and perhaps even cut the amount of cheese a little bit. Still, yummy and easy.""

Reviewed Broccoli with Garlic and Soy Sauce

Aug 19, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Just average, in my opinion. It was very difficult to keep the garlic from burning, and I reduced the salt in this recipe substantially. I felt like the natural flavor of the broccoli was really masked by the dressing. Probably won't use this recipe again.""

Reviewed Salmon With Warm Tomato-Olive Salad

Aug 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

If I were just reviewing the salmon marinade, I would probably give this a four. The marinade is very nice, and the honey provides a nice bit of sweetness that contrasts the acidity of the vinegar. It came out very nice.

The extra star comes from the salad- it was fantastic. I was skeptical about a warm salad, but it brought...

Reviewed Garden Risotto

Mar 13, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Perfect! I followed the directions exactly and was so happy with the product- my very first risotto. Very healthy, too. I'll definitely be making this again."

Reviewed Rack of Lamb with Rosemary Roasted Potatoes and Shallot Vinaigrette

Feb 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Absolutely delicious. The searing on the stove top is really key to these coming out nicely. If rack of lamb weren't so expensive, I would make this all the time. The rosemary is a perfect complement to the lamb.

Reviewed Individual Chocolate Souffles

Feb 15, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I had heard that souffles were difficult to get right, but this recipe came out perfect on my first try. They were a great Valentine's dessert! I followed the recipe to a T and was very happy with the results. Just make sure to pull them out of the oven before they overcook- the gooey center is the best part.

Reviewed Curried Potatoes and Chickpeas

Jan 23, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Really, really fabulous! I was wary of trying to cook with curry since I have no experience using it, but this was a very easy recipe and it turned out better than I ever would have imagined. My only alteration- I left out the water that was called for in the yogurt sauce, because the lime juice seemed to thin it out enough on its own. Otherwise,...

Reviewed Chicken Fajitas

Jan 16, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The marinade in this recipe is fantastic. My roommate and I were absolutely crazy about it. My only real criticism of the recipe is that the water in the avocado sauce is completely unnecessary, especially if you're using a ripe avocado. It just watered down the taste and made it runny. If your avocado is on the hard side, then use maybe 1/3 cup...
