I cheated a little bit, and it was awesome. Really surprised by how easy and tasty it was.

I only changed two things about this recipe. I used ground pork, and I didn't put it in the skin. I did follow the rest of the recipe as written.

I have now used the sausage in a couple of recipes, and it is really tasty....

I didn't have enough apples, but needed to use them, and I did have some peaches to finish it. So, I used 3 apples, 4 peaches and the rest of the recipe as is. I ended up having it by itself last night for dinner, with about half the batch left over. I really works. I can imagine this hot over some vanilla ice cream, or as a side to pork chops...b"

@ahaney: Your best bet, is to order a fresh turkey now for delivery on thanksgiving. The difference between fresh and frozen is worth a little bit of effort and the minimal expense difference. If you can't for whatever reason, then using this recipe without alteration on a frozen turkey will work just fine. Brining is the most sure-fire way to get...
